[:en]As the temperature starts to drop, why not keep the kids entertained with a weekend trip to Cervantes. It’s only a two-hour drive north of Perth and is close enough for a quick weekend getaway, but far enough to have a good break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the city.

To help you decide where to stay, we’ve put together our top three favourite campsites.
Number one on our list is RAC Cervantes Holiday Park. It’s located right on the beachfront, which means you can watch the sunset from your tent with picturesque ocean views. There are a range of accommodation options to suit everyone including villas, powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites. Enjoy the communal areas and amenities – why not have a big cook up in the BBQ area and meet some fellow holiday makers?
The kids will be occupied playing pool or hanging out in the activity centre. The best part is the campsites are pet friendly, so you won’t have to leave your beloved fur baby at home. RAC Cervantes Holiday Park is definitely a winner from a convenience aspect with something for everyone and a great place to meet other campers or do a trip out to the Pinnacles. The best part is it’s only 500 meters from Lobster Shack!
Number two is the Jurien Bay Tourist Park, that offers a similar getaway and is also located on the beachfront 27 km north of RAC Holiday Park in Cervantes. It features on-site chalets, powered and unpowered camping sites, communal kitchen, laundry and BBQ areas. This is a great place to stay if you’re planning on having a day at Lesueur National Park or booking an experience with Jurien Bay Adventure Tours.
Last but not least is Tuarts Reserve. It’s located a just a 10 minute drive from the beach along Cervantes Road and is free for the first 72 hours. Soak up the serenity at this bush campsite for self-contained travellers. Hike your way around Southern Beekeepers Nature Reserve during the day and relax by the campfire at night.
This time of the year is really the best time to visit Cervantes as from June – November you’ll get to enjoy much warmer weather than Perth and as an added bonus, there is much less wind! It’s the perfect time of year to seek adventures and explore our beautiful coast.
