Things to do along the Coral Coast!

One of Australia’s best kept secrets and absolute gems, the Coral Coast is scattered with treats that will be sure to make for a perfect weekend getaway with family or friends. The Coral Coast runs from Perth, all the way up the coastline north to Broome and the Kimberley region. And while, you’re probably not going to get the whole way up in a day, there’s endless options to suit whatever your time limit or holiday desires. We’re compiled a little list of places you might want to work into your itinerary for your next holiday up north.

    IN A DAY/WEEKEND

    Cervantes

Let’s start with our favourite, Cervantes. We know we’re biased, but we can’t recommend a trip here enough. An absolute must do for any tourist to the area is the Pinnacles in Nambung National Park. Truly a sight to behold, research has discovered that these alien-like, naturally formed limestone pillars were formed about 80,000 years ago. Plus, Lobster Shack is about 15 minutes away so you can reward yourself for your hard work being a tourist and experiencing history with the freshest lobster on the Coral Coast.

    Moore River

Just an hour’s drive from Perth, Moore River is a favourite for locals and tourists alike. If you love your water sports, you’ll be spoilt for choice here as there is not one, but two bodies of water to enjoy! Choose to kayak on the river or windsurf on the coast. This is a must see natural wonder, and we can’t think of anything better than enjoying a glass of wine as you overlook the river and beautiful ocean sit happily side by side.

    Lancelin

There’s no secret about the advantage of visiting Lancelin. It’s the home of the sand dunes. This is a perfect option for a day trip or a stopover on your way a little further up to Cervantes for lunch at Lobster Shack, and will ensure the kids and the adults leave sandy, but oh so happy after a few goes down nature’s slide.

    MORE THAN A WEEKEND

    Exmouth

Fly or endure the 13 hour drive up to stunning Exmouth for an underwater adventure of a lifetime. You and you group could enjoy diving, snorkelling or a boat tour in a glass bottom boat as some ways to explore the incredible sea life on show.

    Monkey Mia

Think of Monkey Mia, and one thing always comes to mind: Dolphins! One of the Coral Coast’s most popular tourist destinations, undoubtedly because of the beautiful and friendly community of dolphins that happily interact with humans daily. Book one of a huge range of dolphin tours for the full experience.

    Broome

And last but definitely not least, the holy grail of places to visit along the Coral Coast, Broome is a mission to get to, but boy is it worth it in the end. Watch the sunset over stunning Cable Beach, or take a camel ride along the beach and truly immerse yourself in one of the most beautiful views in the world.

These are just 6 of the hundreds of places to visit along the Coral Coast that we’re so lucky to have at our fingertips. For the ultimate weekend away, stay overnight in Cervantes and sample the surrounding areas for a day trip.
